International Criket Council (ICC) refused to send their umpires to Pakistan for Zimbabwe-Pakistan cricket series in because of security concerns. This announcement was made by ICC at the advice of their own security consultants.
Why ICC decided that when Pakistan is fighting terrorism in the country?
Unfortunately, Pak Army is fighting the terrorism. Civil government of Nawaz Sharif’s participation in this fight is limited only to issue statements and sometime try to take credit for that.
People outside of Pakistan understand that very well and make their decisions accordingly. They know Nawaz Sharif’s government interest is not more than trying to take credit for the efforts of Pak Army. And all the assurances of security are given by civilian government and not the Pak Army.
However, the good thing is ICC has said in spite of the fact that home empires will be umpiring these matches the international standing of these matches will not be affected. In fact, ICC has relaxed their rules and regulations for this purpose.
